“What sparks me is seeing others bloom; watching the petals of creativity open and whole beings emerge.” – Kathleen Gubitosi
Has someone told you can’t sing? This is untrue. If you can speak, you can sing.
Have you been told you have no rhythm, or are uncoordinated, so you can’t play an instrument?
I specialize in working with those who have been discouraged by others, have low musical self-esteem and suffer from performance anxiety. My methods can, at times, be unorthodox, but they work and are fun!
My first love is music.
I’m blessed to be the daughter of music educators and entrepreneurs. I began teaching piano, guitar and violin at my parent’s music store in my senior year of high school as a way to help pay for college.
Upon earning my B.S. in Education as a voice major and obtaining my New York State teaching certification, I added voice lessons.
I work in a wide range of styles from “classical” to rock-n-roll and musical theater. My professional opinion is that building a good foundation of proper technique can carry a musician through performance of any style they choose to express themselves in.
I believe learning should be low pressure and fun! Over my years of teaching, I have yet to meet ANYONE, kindergartner to senior citizen, who cannot succeed in learning.
True, some things come easier than others but that applies to learning anything; not just music.
My key strength is building relationships with my students and their families. That’s why my students return year after year, now bring their children, and occasionally a grandparent or grandchild. (Oops! I’m giving away my age again!)
Give the negative self-talk the heave-ho. Follow that dream. Start music lessons!
Whether you’re looking for music lessons, voice or performance coaching for the stage, a repertoire consultation, songwriting assistance, or a vocalist for your next event or creative project, I’d love to discuss how I can be of service.
