No sooner did I click publish on my last post exposing The Sexy Voice Hoax for Venus when Goddess Aphrodite appeared in my office… with a self-help book!
Aphrodite: Drop your voice an octave, she writes! Does she even know what an octave is?! Speak from your chest?! Absurd!
Me: Um… Hmmm… Yes, Goddess. I agree.
Aphrodite: Listen to this next sentence, Kathleen. And I quote, “Try to sound as gravelly as possible.” I’m in pain just reading this! She goes on to give the worst voice advice imaginable. “Speak in a whisper!”
Now, I’m all for sweet nothings when the time is right, but whispering! In a time when feminine gender persons are being called on to raise our voices, her advice is to whisper! If that isn’t wrong enough, I recall Orpheus telling me that whispering can actually do more harm than good.
Me: Um…Hmm…I would agree that these are all expressions of vocal effects one could use at the appropriate time but without guidance on how to create the effect safely, there is potential for voice injury.
Aphrodite: Worst still, it robs the average mortal of their natural Goddess-given voice beauty!
Me: Um…Hmm…I agree.
Aphrodite: What incensed me most was that these steps were given credence as exercises in empowerment! This same book talks about authenticity and being real! How could anyone portray their real inner Goddess-given self while using a fake outer voice?
Me: Um…Hmm…I see what you mean. It can’t be done!
Aphrodite: Being real in the moment is where it’s at! I hate that Venus beat me to it, but she’s right! There is a Sexy Voice Hoax being perpetrated against all mortals and we must stop it!
Me: Um… Hmm…What do you suggest, Goddess?
Aphrodite: In this age of global communication and social media I want you to organize a group online, create classes to help mortals in their goal to Up Their Charisma! But it needs to be done safely so that they can protect their voices as well.
Me: Um… Hmm…Ah, Goddess, I‘ve already started. I lead a group on Facebook called Voice and Biz Alchemy: Free Your Voice and Transform Your Life!
Aphrodite: Wonderful! Smart woman, I knew Athena blessed you too.
Me: Um… Hmm… Ah, Goddess, I have been teaching online in the Voice and Biz Alchemy Facebook group using video and live streaming for almost two years now for FREE. I’ve even donated the recordings from my The Magic of Melody 6 part Mini-Video Course to mortals around the world who are not group members! Most who take the course are of divine feminine descent but it’s designed to help with divine masculine voice energy too.
Aphrodite: Mutual inclusion! Alchemy! You know how I love mixing things up! I’m so glad we had a chance to talk. I feel so much better knowing that you are on top of a reality cure for The Sexy Voice Hoax!
I’ve gotta run now, Kathleen! Busy week here you know. Valentine’s Day is coming! Eros and Cupid have some spectacular fireworks planned.

Holy Canoly! Which Goddess will be visiting next week? I wish not to disclose how long it has been since my high school choir days, but the very first thing we learned was how to breathe when performing whether it was singing, acting, public speaking, etc.,and that was to breathe from our diaphragm which I later learned as 3rd chakra/solar plexus! I’m so happy an expert like you is debunking these falsities and saving peoples voices!
Yes!!! The breath, the fuel for voice in speaking or singing, comes from the solar plexus chakra!
