The sign of Cancer is the ultimate nurturer of The Zodiac. Cancers are deeply feeling individuals. The type of who search out the absolute perfect gift for your upcoming birthday or holiday party. In fact, they may bring several gifts all well thought out and chosen with loving care especially for you.

New Moon time brings us back to wishes, goals and intentions. Some of my readers have told me that they’d like a do-over in some area of their life; be it a personal decision or a career move. The universe repeatedly give us chances for what I like to call “cosmic do-overs”. These cosmic do-overs come around at about the same time each month in the form of the New Moon.

Last month we talked about Wishes and Wisdom, Inspiration and Innovation (Gemini), and how goals need revisiting, sprucing up and elbow grease to come true.

This month, the last four weeks before the harvest season begins with Lammas, traditionally August 1-2, our focus is on nurturing. It seems like Summer just started here in my hometown and I am a bit put out to be thinking about harvest already. I’m taking it as a reminder that each moment is precious and to be enjoyed full tilt.

Being a triple Gemini is a quirky thing. My brain works at light speed. Even as a kid, I was always daydreaming but still at the head of the class. A few of my teachers were concerned about me because I was staring out the window a lot. My parents used to tell them not to worry and that I was taking in everything that happened in class, I just liked communing with the fairies while waiting for others to catch up.

It’s also a good thing that my Mercury (communication planet) is in Cancer and my Venus (love and beauty planet) is in Taurus, as it makes me a speaker and performer who can wring emotion out of an audience and touch people’s hearts with words and music.

To honor my Mercury in Cancer and my voice power, I am working to become more nurturing with my inner dialogue. How can I create a more compassionate inner world that flows with ease and grace as opposed to my go, go, go mentality? This is going to be my stop and smell the roses time of the year. Indeed, all of us in the Northeast USA should do so quickly as the roses are nearing the end of their bloom cycle!

In my garden, my azaleas and lilacs came and went in a flash, my lilies were decimated by red beetles while I wasn’t looking (I’m struggling to save them now!) and my gladiolus are just beginning to show buds. Nature has been in harvest mode all along without me noticing.

Cancer reminds us to maintain the connection between our inner and outer selves. Now is the perfect time to set some goals for showing your voice some self-love! Try using some natural human sounds to warm up your voice. Using embryonic sounds such as yawning, sighing and humming are a great way to warm up every day on your way to work! It can also help prevent vocal strain. If you’re a teacher or coach like I am, your voice is your number one teaching tool most of the time and should always be in tip top shape.

For those interested, I will be offering a free mini course in my FB Group in August, Summer Voice School – Up Your Charisma and Preserve Your Voice! There is nothing to buy to join the group and nothing to buy to have access to the live video training, replays and handouts. I do this once a quarter and it’s my gift to group members! So come on over and join us. This link will take you there, Voice and Biz Alchemy Group.

As for our Wishes, Intentions and Goals this month, our realignment? Our cosmic do-over? While you are in the slowed down feeling mode, ask yourself, “What seeds did I plant earlier in the year that I can cultivate as my first fruits of summer?” Spend the next four weeks working on them as part of your self-care ritual. Dreams can be relegated to fallow ground when not tended by the loving hand of a gentle gardener like Cancer.

Let me know how it works out! Happy New Moon!
